Jesse Goldstein, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and clinical director of the Cleft-Craniofacial Center. He is also associate program director of the Plastic Surgery Residency program and program director of the Craniofacial Fellowship program. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania School and medical studies at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Goldstein completed his plastic surgery training at Georgetown University Hospital and returned to Penn as a craniofacial fellow at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Shortly after finishing his training, he joined the Department of Plastic Surgery faculty at UPMC.

Dr. Goldstein’s clinical interests includes the full spectrum of pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery including craniosynostosis, cleft lip/palate, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, Pierre Robin sequence, and complex nasal reconstruction/rhinoplasty, and gender-affirming facial surgery.

Dr. Goldstein is the Principal Investigator in a busy craniofacial research lab with two full time research fellows and over 60 ongoing projects. His lab focuses on clinical outcomes and educational research as well as translational research seeking to apply computer vision/artificial intelligence to craniofacial diagnoses. He has more than 170 publications, numerous book chapters, and is grant supported by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Goldstein is active and has served on the board of numerous professional societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Council of Educators in Plastic Surgeons (ACAPS), the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Robert H. Ivy Pennsylvania Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Goldstein loves to cook, hike, and travel with his wife and four children.
