Biography

Alexey Markelov graduated with honors from Kazakh State Medical University in Astana, Kazakhstan. He is a recipient of the Kazakhstan Presidential Scholarship. After completion of medical school, Dr. Markelov pursued graduate medical training in the Unites States.  He successfully completed General Surgery residency at Easton Hospital, and affiliate of Drexel University College of Medicine.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Markelov plans to develop a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program in his home country of Kazakhstan upon completion of his training here at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
