The Pitt Plastic Surgery Department had a strong presence at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Robert H. Ivy Pennsylvania Society of Plastic Surgeons, We are delighted to announce that Pitt has once again had an incredible showing at the annual event – with a total of 14 podium presentations, an additional 20 posters presentations, representation on the program by Dr. Peter Rubin and Dr. Vu Nguyen and on the executive committee by Dr. Jesse Goldstein.

In the end, Pitt ended up taking home awards for Second Place Basic Science by Dr. Asher Schusterman for his talk entitled “Adipose-Derived Stem Cells Delay Muscle Atrophy after Peripheral Nerve Injury in the Rodent Model”, First Place Basic Science by Joshua Barnett for his talk entitled “FK506 Releasing Nerve Wraps Accelerate Nerve Regeneration”, and Best Overall Paper and the George Manstein Award by Dr. Chiaki Komatsu for her talk entitled “Assessment of Retinochoroidal Circulation Using Fluorescein Angiography in Rodent Whole Eye Transplantation Model”.
