Breast Reconstruction Awareness (BRA) Day 2013

Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, or BRA Day USA, is a collaborative effort between the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Plastic Surgery Foundation, plastic surgeons specializing in breast surgery, nurse navigators, medical device industry representatives, and breast cancer support groups. Originally launched in Canada in 2011, BRA Day promotes education, awareness, and access regarding post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, ensuring that all patients who have mastectomies are offered all options for breast reconstruction. Visiting Professors

Here at Pitt Plastic Surgery, we try to expose our residents to a wide variety of experts in all areas of Plastic Surgery. There are two endowed lectureships, the Ross H. Musgrave Lectureship occurs in the fall and the Lisa Vecchione Lectureship takes place in June. In addition, we routinely invite visiting guest lecturers to speak at our city-wide grand rounds. Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons (OVSPS) Cup 2013

While the Pittsburgh Penguins failed to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals, Pitt Plastic Surgery Residents brought home the Ohio Valley Society of Plastic Surgeons (OVSPS) Cup for the 10th consecutive year. Congratulations to Darren Smith for being awarded the Best Basic Science Presentation and Jignesh Unadkat for Best Overall Presentation
