Chelsey Johnson, MD
Chelsey was born and raised in Fargo, ND and is the first person in her family to pursue a career in medicine. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona (U of A, go Wildcats!) with a major in Physiology and a minor in Chemistry. While in medical school at the U of A she was the coordinator of the volunteer clinic that provided healthcare to victims of domestic violence and became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She spent a research year at Stanford University under the direction of Dr. Jill Helms studying craniofacial sutures and the effects of surgical intervention and manipulation on skeletal growth.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean, and her co-residents, as well as weight lifting, cooking/baking, skiing, and traveling.
Pitt Plastic Surgery was an obvious choice for her top pick of residencies due to its high volume and wide exposure of all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. This, combined with brilliant and approachable attendings that are excited to mentor the next leaders in this amazing field, has been a true match for Chelsey.
