Project Description

Debra Bourne, MD

Bio

Debra Bourne received her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.  Following graduation she spent a year in Namibia, Africa teaching Biology and Mathematics in a public school.  She then joined Laura Johnston’s laboratory at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she investigated growth control during organ development. She attended medical school at Yale University. Dr. Bourne is now training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She spent a year working with Dr. J Peter Rubin and Kacey Marra in the University of Pittsburgh Adipose Stem Cell laboratory where she investigated the regenerative capacities of adipose derived stem cells and fat grafting. Following residency, she will be staying at the University of Pittsburgh for hand fellowship training.

Why Pitt?

The best part about the Department of Plastic Surgery at Pitt is the residents and attendings you get to work with every day.
