Dorothy Bird, MD
Dorothy (Deedee) is from New York’s Hudson Valley. She earned a BA in Biology from Boston University and a Master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. She earned her MD at New York Medical College. She completed a General Surgery residency at Boston Medical Center where she also participated in a two-year research fellowship. She completed a Plastic Surgery residency at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. She is currently a reconstructive microsurgery fellow at UPMC.
Her clinical interests are breast, head and neck, and lower extremity reconstruction. Her research interests are in characterizing the epigenetic events of wound healing and the influence adipose-derived stem cells in addition to reconstructive outcomes and microsurgical innovation.
