Dr. Lorelei J. Grunwaldt

Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery

Dr. Lorelei J. Grunwaldt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery who specializes in Pediatric Plastic Surgery.   She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College in 1997 and then attended Upstate Medical University in New York graduating with a Doctor of Medicine Degree in 2001. She completed her Internship and Residency in General Surgery from 2001-2006 at the Beth Israel Deaconess in the Harvard Hospital Hospital system prior to completing her Residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. She then completed a Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Cleft/Craniofacial Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2009 and was recruited to the faculty in the division of Plastic Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) in 2009.

Dr Grunwaldt subsequently founded and became director of the Vascular Anomalies and Brachial Plexus Centers at CHP. In addition she has true expertise in all areas of Cleft Lip and Palate and Pediatric Plastic Surgery. Her clinical and academic productivity at CHP has been exceptional and merited her promotion to the rank of Associate Professor in 2015.

She also leads the Congenital Breast Clinic where she treats both female and male patients with a variety of concerns and breast and chest wall problems.. She has a large experience and true expertise in the treatment of congenital ear anomalies including prominent ear and microtia.

Dr. Grunwaldt also has expertise in adult cosmetic surgeries including breast surgery, liposuction, facelift, and eyelid surgery.

Combining technical expertise with compassion, Dr. Grunwaldt aims to help you or your child understand the diagnosis and offer the best options for treatment. Together you will work to come to the best decision for care, as Dr. Grunwaldt addresses all of your questions and concerns during your consultation.
