Dr. Davit named Vice Chief, Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery, and Director, Pediatric Brachial Plexus Services

Dr. Alex Davit has been appointed Vice Chief, Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery, and Director, Pediatric Brachial Plexus Services. Dr. Davit’s longstanding dedication to the Division of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at CHP, along with his stewardship of multiple clinical service efforts, has led to this well-deserved promotion to the position of Vice Chief of the Division. In this new leadership role, Dr. Davit will work shoulder to shoulder with Dr. Goldstein in advancing the excellence of the Division by expanding clinical, research, educational, and service initiatives.  Dr. Davit will be an outstanding representative of the Division to other services and hospital leaders at CHP in the Vice Chief role.

Dr. Davit joined the Pitt Plastic Surgery family in 2010, when he came to CHP for craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship training. He honed his interest in upper extremity surgery, spending several months at CHOP in Philadelphia training in pediatric hand surgery during his craniofacial fellowship, and then joined our faculty. He further developed his expertise by completing the hand and upper extremity fellowship at UPMC and rejoined the faculty at CHP in 2014. He has demonstrated exemplary commitment and passion to our pediatric patient population, serving as the sole full-time pediatric hand surgeon at CHP. He further serves as the founding Director of the Pediatric Hand and Wound Clinics.  As a role model for ongoing skills acquisition, Dr. Davit has spent years engaging in continued learning in the field of brachial plexus surgery and has cultivated fruitful learning relationships with several leaders in this complex specialty. With this expertise, he is excited to develop a comprehensive pediatric upper extremity program and has long term goals of creating a fellowship in this area of practice and an annual pediatric upper extremity symposium.
