Dr. Davila is a fellowship trained, bilingual plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and owner of The Pittsburgh Center for Plastic Surgery. Even as a young surgeon, he was named one of America's Best Plastic Surgeons by Newsweek magazine in 2022 and 2023. His scores lead the nation in several categories and are some of the highest scores in the Pittsburgh area.
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, he attended the University of Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Biological Engineering. He then completed his medical studies at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he spent a year as a dedicated research fellow to Dr. John YS Kim, a nationally recognized leader in plastic surgery. Dr. Davila has authored several landmark publications in the early use of acellular dermal matrices for breast reconstruction, now a standard practice for plastic surgeons around the globe.
He continued his training in sunny California, at Loma Linda University Healt. The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was the first ever Integrated Plastic Surgery Training Program in the country, providing its residents with years more hands-on experience in plastic surgery than traditional models. Ever pursuing more knowledge, Dr. Davila was then accepted to the Inaugural Fellowship in Complex Breast, Microsurgical, and Robotic Reconstruction at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine. Here he trained with Dr. Richard Baynosa, a pioneer in Minimally Invasive Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, learning cutting edge robotic and microsurgical techniques. Following in the footsteps of Dr. Hurwitz, Dr. Davila has remained an avid researcher, authoring over two dozen scientific publications and academic presentations over his decade in Plastic Surgery. This has provided Dr. Davila with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse techniques available to plastic surgeons to solve even the most difficult of aesthetic or reconstructive concerns.
Dr. Davila and his wife are a dynamic duo. Dr. Allison Davila, celebrating over a decade together as both surgical colleagues and partners. Also a lifelong learner, she is a talented cardiac surgeon, specializing in neonatal/pediatric heart surgery, but together they still find time to enjoy the theater, skiing, and scuba diving.
