Originally from the Philadelphia area, Casey Zhang earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh in Biology, with Minors in Studio Arts and Chemistry. While at Pitt, she developed an interest in research while working in a basic science lab studying cystic fibrosis. Now currently between her third and fourth year of medical training at the University of Pittsburgh, she is continuing to pursue her clinical research interests, particularly in breast reconstruction and gender-affirming surgery, with the Department of Plastic Surgery. In her free time she enjoys running, decorating cakes, and playing tennis.
