Dr. Dana Bregman grew up in Connecticut and attended Harvard University where she studied Social Anthropology. After graduation, she worked at Brown University facilitating preclinical studies on novel HIV prevention technologies. She then matriculated to the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell for her medical degree. During this time, she completed a research year at the Friedman Brain Institute at Mount Sinai. When she returned to complete her clinical years of medical school, she discovered her passion for reconstructive surgery. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and was awarded distinction in research upon graduation.
Dr. Bregman then completed residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Northwell Health in New York. After residency, she pursued subspeciality training at the Joseph H. Boyes Hand Fellowship at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Bregman joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Plastic Surgery with a focus on providing compassionate care for patients with complex reconstructive needs. Her interests include upper extremity and peripheral nerve surgery, sarcoma reconstruction, and general reconstruction throughout the body.
