Joshua Yoon, MD

Dr. Joshua Yoon was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to the United States with his parents and was raised in northern Virginia. Dr. Yoon double majored in Biological Sciences and Human Nutrition Food and Exercise with minors in Psychology and Medicine and Society at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he then studied medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and went on to match into the George Washington University Hospital general surgery program. During residency, he chose to complete a two-year research fellowship at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in the plastic surgery division under the mentorship of Drs. Grant, Liang, and Nam with multiple projects spanning from traumatic craniofacial reconstruction with 3D modeling to education related topics such as virtual interviews.

Dr. Yoon has over 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeryJournal of Craniofacial Surgery, and Microsurgery. He has also presented and been part of numerous abstracts at local, regional, and national meetings.
