Omar Elfanagely, MD

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Elfanagely earned his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology at Rutgers University. He then attended Rutgers New Jersey Medical school where he spent one year completing computational research at Columbia University prior to his matriculation into general surgery residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson. While there, Dr. Elfanagely completed a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania under the guidance of Dr. John Fischer. He conducted multiple projects evaluating patient-reported outcomes following body contouring, breast reduction, and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Elfanagely has nearly 30 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as JAMA SurgeryAnnals of SurgeryPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Microsurgery. He has also contributed to numerous abstracts and presentations at local, regional, and national meetings.
